PDF Editor Guru – Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 Nov 2025

PDF Guru (“the app”) is a mobile PDF tool that lets you view, edit, merge, split, and convert PDF files on your device.

1. Offline Processing

PDF Guru performs all PDF actions locally on your device. Your PDF files are never uploaded to external servers or shared without your consent. All editing, merging, splitting, and conversion happen entirely on your device.

2. Internet Permission

The app may require internet access for:

  • Uploading selected PDF files to our server for conversion to Editor / DOC format
  • Loading in-app messages or updates
  • Sending anonymous usage statistics via Firebase Analytics
  • Loading ads via Google AdMob (if enabled)

When you use the online PDF to Editor or PDF to DOC features, your selected PDF file is securely transmitted to our processing server using encrypted HTTPS/HTTP connections. This is only done to perform the requested file conversion.

We do not sell, share, or use your uploaded documents for any other purpose such as advertising, training, or analysis. Uploaded files are automatically deleted from our servers within a short time after processing.

All other features in PDF Guru (such as viewing and local editing) are handled directly on your device without requiring file uploads.

3. File Access

The app requests access only to the documents you select through the system file picker or storage access framework. These permissions let the app open, view, edit, or export files in place.

You can revoke storage access at any time from the Android system settings. Once access is revoked, PDF Guru will no longer be able to open previously selected files.

4. Temporary Data

During editing or conversion, the app may create temporary working copies in the app’s cache folder. These temporary files are cleaned up automatically when operations finish or when the app is closed, or by the operating system as part of normal cache management.

5. Analytics and Tracking

We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as:

  • App opens and session length
  • Feature usage (e.g. which tools are used most)
  • Crash reports and basic performance metrics
  • Device model, operating system version, app version
  • Country/region (approximate)

Firebase Analytics does not collect the contents of your PDF files. No personally identifiable document data is sent. Data is processed in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy.

6. Advertising

PDF Guru may use Google AdMob & Meta Audience Network to display ads. AdMob or Audience Network may collect and process information such as:

  • Advertising ID (used for personalized or non-personalized ads)
  • Device information (device type, language, platform)
  • App usage data related to ad impressions and clicks

This information is used to serve and improve ads, measure their effectiveness, and prevent fraud and abuse. Data collection and use are handled according to Google’s Privacy Policy and your ad-personalization settings on your device.

7. Third-Party Services

The app may integrate the following third-party services:

  • Google Firebase Analytics – anonymous usage analytics
  • Google AdMob – advertising
  • Meta Audience Network – advertising

These services collect data as described in Sections 5 and 6. No third-party service has direct access to the actual contents of your PDF documents.

8. Exports and Storage

Processed files (such as edited or merged PDFs) are saved to the folder you choose (for example: Downloads or Documents). The app may keep a recent-files list on your device to help you reopen recent documents more quickly. This list is stored locally and can be cleared by clearing app data/cache.

9. Security

Because files remain on your device, you are responsible for securing your phone or tablet. To protect sensitive PDFs, we recommend:

  • Using a strong screen lock (PIN, pattern, password, or biometric)
  • Enabling device encryption if available
  • Not sharing your device with untrusted users

10. Children’s Privacy

PDF Guru is intended for general use and is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date at the top will be revised. We recommend reviewing this page periodically to stay informed about how your data is handled.
